This paid internship is a hands-on opportunity to learn about the electrical systems that keep our facilities running. Under the guidance of licensed electricians and experienced maintenance professionals, you will assist with routine electrical maintenance and gain exposure to the tools, safety practices, and skills used in the electrical trade.
The schedule for this internship is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Internship runs from June 16th, 2026 to August 14th, 2026

Responsibilities
• Assists with basic electrical tasks such as replacing light fixtures, testing outlets, or resetting circuit breakers.
• Gains knowledge in diagnosing electrical malfunctions, using appropriate test instruments and diagnostic procedures.
• Learns how to repair malfunctions by replacing burnt-out elements and fuses, bypassing or replacing defective wiring using hand tools; participates in testing electrical equipment for safety and efficiency using standard test equipment and by observation.
• Gains knowledge of performing various electrical projects, such as rigid, electrical metallic tubing (EMT), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduit installation.
• Observes testing continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety for all components; observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.
• Shadows technicians and attends training sessions as available.
• Gains some understanding of reading and understanding technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must be a rising or current high school senior, or any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including setting and meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Some knowledge of connecting, wiring, and devices used in the conduction of electricity is beneficial.
• Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools and other equipment of the electrical trade.
• Physically able to assist with tasks that may require lifting (up to 25 lbs.), climbing ladders, or standing for extended periods (accommodations available as needed).
