As a Fitness Attendant, you’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations of the recreation center by assisting patrons with equipment use, promoting proper exercise practices, and ensuring a clean and well-maintained facility.
We’re looking for friendly, dependable individuals who enjoy working with people and are passionate about health and wellness. In this role, you’ll provide excellent customer service, monitor safety, lead orientations and tours, and help maintain a positive fitness experience for all guests. Please note this is a night position.
Fitness Center Attendants are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming workout environment for all patrons. This role emphasizes excellent customer service by assisting users with equipment operation and proper exercise techniques, while ensuring all facility rules and safety guidelines are followed.
Fitness Attendants monitor daily fitness center operations, respond promptly to incidents or accidents, and provide support in emergency situations when necessary. Responsibilities also include conducting scheduled fitness orientations and facility tours, maintaining cleaning and checklist standards, and performing minor equipment maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities
• Ensures Center rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements are followed.
• Instructs patrons in the proper use of the Life Fitness, Cybex and cardiovascular equipment; preforms and schedules patron orientations.
• Performs routine daily maintenance instructing patrons on machine usage, enforcing safety policies, organizing equipment, sanitizing machines, and conducting opening/closing procedures.
• Aids patrons in daily operation of equipment and answers questions concerning operation of equipment.
Qualifications:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; some experience which shall have involved assisting the public and operation of fitness equipment.
• Must possess reliable transportation to work site(s).
• Must possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, certification from the American Red Cross in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including setting and meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; fitness systems and proper techniques.
• Skill in excellent customer service; the use of basic tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; enforce operating policies and procedures in an effective and courteous manner; repair fitness equipment.
This is a full-time, evening position that rotates weekends.
Shift is primarily Mon - Thur. 12:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. Friday 11:15 a.m. - 8:15 p.m. Weekend shifts vary during operation hours and weekday hours may vary due to training needs and meetings.
