Performs responsible service maintenance work assisting patrons and overseeing daily operations of fitness center. Ensures safety and sanitation standards, performs orientations and conducts minor equipment repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
A fitness attendant is primarily responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in a fitness facility, while also assisting members with equipment usage and enforcing facility policies. They may also be involved in opening/closing procedures, emergency response, and general upkeep of the facility.
• Conducting tours in the building
• Moving equipment and accessories; ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Cleaning, vacuuming and dusting equipment on a daily basis
Qualifications:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; some experience which shall have involved assisting the public and operation of fitness equipment.
• Must possess reliable transportation to work site(s).
• Must possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, certification from the American Red Cross in First Aid and
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including setting and meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; fitness systems and proper techniques.
• Skill in excellent customer service; the use of basic tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; enforce operating policies and procedures in an effective and courteous manner; repair fitness equipment.

• The ability to enforce policies, maintain a welcoming environment and assist members with equipment usage along with equipment upkeep & cleaning.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and being involved in events included in Parks & Recreation Department.
