The General Services Department is offering a dynamic paid Internship Program for motivated students who want to explore various career options. This internship opportunity is designed to provide real-world experience in various government-run operations.
Responsibilities
Interns will work alongside seasoned professionals in areas such as:
Automotive
Budgeting
Capital Projects
Engineering
Facilities
Sustainability
As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop valuable workplace skills that will prepare you for future career success. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how different divisions work together to serve the community and keep County operations running smoothly.
Qualifications:
Must be a rising or current high school senior, college student, or enrolled in a trade school. No prior experience is required – just enthusiasm and a desire to grow!
Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople with routine maintenance, repair, and installation work.
- Learn to use tools, equipment, and safety procedures specific to each role.
- Participate in safety briefings and job site meetings.
- Shadow professionals and gain insights into career opportunities within the public sector.
