Job Summary

Performs responsible work planning and executing Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center’s marketing, communications, and event activities that strengthen the organization’s presence in the community and enhance outreach efforts to patients, staff, volunteers, donors, and supporting jurisdictional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, executes and maintains coordinated communications and marketing plan that supports OTMDC’s communication and marketing goals; builds and executes social media strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification.

• Organizes, oversees, and executes events and donor solicitations; identifies potential sponsors and donors, develops long-term relationships and commitments for ongoing support; presents opportunities for sponsorship and donations and secures funding commitments.

• Oversees monthly e-newsletter, website content, news releases, presentation material, promotional and collateral material.

• Develops and oversees a comprehensive electronic mailing list of patients, staff, donors, jurisdictional stakeholders and potential donors and friends.

• Provides on-going outreach to patients, staff, volunteers, donors, jurisdictional stakeholders and the greater Williamsburg community.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field: considerable experience in health care or non-profit with experience in digital communications and social media.

• Must possess reliable transportation to work site(s).

• Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; principles and processes for providing customer service include setting and meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

• Knowledge of project management and use of business applications of multiple social medial platforms.

• Skill in use of computer software, especially Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to analyze and use judgement in accomplishing diversified duties, think independently within limits of polices, standards, and precedents.

• Ability to exercise courtesy and tact as a member of a diverse team of employees and in citizen interactions; work under pressure and meet deadlines; effectively communicate complex ideas and proposals which may include preparation of reports and presentations; understand information and ideas presented both verbally and in writing.

• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on James City County’s criteria.

Additional Position Information, Job Locations and Conditions:

• Duties are performed primarily in on office setting at Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center; operates standard office.

• Performs work safely in accordance with department safety procedures and County Safety Program; operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work condition or practice to supervisor.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.

• Requires the ability to travel among various work sites.

• May be required to report to work to serve customers during emergency conditions; may be assigned to report at a different time and location and to perform different duties as necessary.
