James City County’s Department of Information Resources Management, Records Management Division seeks an individual to perform responsible work preserving County records by scanning, classifying, performing quality assurance, indexing, and storing records in a computerized central records system in accordance with legal or regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
• Prepares land development files for image conversion by logging, scanning, performing quality assurance, overseeing necessary corrections, uploading and indexing documents into a central records system.
• Responds to requests for information, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from staff and the public for items such as building permits, plans, property information, resolutions, minutes and other records; some requests may require extensive research.
• Maintains data for various records on their location, index information and preservation for disaster recovery using various spreadsheets.
• Serves as customer contact for the public and County staff assisting with records requests.
• Knowledge of various software including Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge in the operation of computers, scanners, printers, and content management systems.
• Ability to manage time and work independently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent of a high school diploma; and some experience with imaging practices and procedures and records management concepts and best practices.
• Experience using database software, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and content management software., various scanners and printers.
• Ability to create spreadsheets, run reports and troubleshoot software.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of excellent customer service.
